Is there anything more wonderful than the riot of colors, strange smells and bustling activity in a crowded, Asian market?  I have an insatiable curiosity about people, history and culture. The more I travel, the more I realize how little I know.

MoiI love shopping for pieces that have history and soul.  Great design is a reflection of the originality of the person creating it.

I’ve spent hours, dripping in sweat, haggling over one little item.  Nothing is more fun than making a good deal – where you’re happy and the seller is happy. In fact, negotiating is truly an artform. (My husband’s much more patient than I am.) is an excuse to do what I love – traveling and shopping for hidden treasures!  I hope you enjoy what I find.

  1. Ms. Weiss:
I am the author of The Oriental Rug Lexicon and am revising this book for republication. I would like to use an image from your site – the Ethiopian rug.
May I have permission to do so? Your name would be printed under the image. Thank you for considering this request.
