Ian Allen’s Poignant Asia Series – “Westward”

Ian Allen - Westward
Monk and a Couple

I came across a wonderful collection of pictures by Brooklyn-based photographer Ian Allen. This series is from a 5 week trip he took in 2007 covering Tokyo, Shanghai, Beijing, and areas near Tibet – Xining, Yushu, and Surmang. The photos range from colorfully robed monks and bucolic prayer flag studded landscapes in Tibet, to bored motorcyclists stuck in rush hour and the glare of fluorescent lights on Shanghai’s Bund. I wish I was able to pull more images to post (pics are imbedded) but you can check them all out here: www.ianallenphoto.com/westward
